Melanie McCarley, Rector

The Rev. Melanie McCarley was called as Rector in January of 2016, after serving as Rector of Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town, West Virginia, for the past 15 years. Ordained in 1991, she has served as Vicar of Emmanuel Church, Rapidan, Virginia, St. Stephen’s in the Fields, Elwood, Indiana, and Curate of Holy Family Episcopal Church in Fishers, Indiana. She is a graduate of Mary Washington College (1988) and Virginia Theological Seminary (1991). In her ministry, Melanie has a passion for teaching, preaching and pastoral care. One of her greatest delights is to spend time getting to know her parishioners.

Melanie married Phil McCarley in 1991; they have one daughter, Hannah, and four delightfully mischievous cats (Oliver, Parker, Bluebelle & Skimble). In addition to spending time with her husband and daughter, Melanie loves reading, swimming, walking, experimenting with cooking, needlepoint, and exploring the beauty of God’s creation.
